Introducing the Queer Rhetoric Project

Are you interested in debates about same-sex marriage, gays in the military, and all things politically queer? Then the Queer Rhetoric Project is designed for you. As a teacher and scholar of LGBT political rhetoric I was often frustrated by the lack of easy access to historical and contemporary speeches and texts relating to queer social and political issues. This site is my effort to remedy that situation.

As it grows it will include sections on famous LGBT activists, events, and issues. I have already begun collecting texts relating to “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” as well as a comprehensive set of President Bill Clinton’s statements on gay and lesbian issues while in office. Other planned sections include Harvey Milk, Stonewall, and Proposition 8.
This blog will highlight recent additions, historical favorites, and commentary on texts and speeches archived by the Queer Rhetoric Project. Check back or subscribe to the site feed to keep up on the latest in gay, lesbian, bisexual, and trans political rhetoric!
